What is RYLA?

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. This leadership training program was adopted in 1971 by RI and each year thousands of young people take part in various RYLAs held  worldwide.

What is WATER RYLA?

Water RYLA is a thematic RYLA based on Water and the various problems about management of the same. There will be a pre-RYLA workshops to appraise you about practical approaches to water problems which you will have opportunity to try out personally during RYLA.

Where is the program being held?

The WATER RYLA is held at an exciting venue on Kelwe Beach, near Palghar.

Where do the students stay?

There are hotels and dormitories on site. There are separate accommodations for males and females. RYLA committee members plus Rotary chaperones will be staying overnight in both dorms.

What is the program at the RYLA?

The program is a combination of leadership training, personal development, career guidance and hands-on experience in water related problems. There will also be “Water Exhibition”.

Can participants leave during the program for other activities and return later?

No. It is expected that the student will attend the entire program from Friday morning to Sunday noon.

Who is eligible to attend the conference?

It is preferred to have high school juniors and college students of 15 to 25 years of age participate. 

What do participants need to take with them?

Enthusiasm, energy, a desire to learn and to meet new people. Once a student is enrolled, information about what to pack will be sent.

When and where do I enroll?

The relevant information will be sent to you or your college/school by the local Rotary Clubs. The last date for enrolment is 31st July 2008.
