   Why Water Matters?

• 26% of the world is denied access to clean water and 3/4 of these also lack proper sanitation.
• 6,000 children die everyday from diseases associated with a lack of access to safe drinking water and inadequate sanitation.
• 1/2 of the world’s population will be living without direct access to fresh water by 2050.

   

The RYLA (ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD) traditionally entails inculcating leadership values in young generation through various relevant lectures and activities. We thought of changing the concept of traditional RYLA by having a thematic RYLA on water.

WATERRYLA is an unique initiative  of District 3140 to prepare WATER LEADERS out of 200 young enthusiastic participants who will perform water conservation activities during 22,23,24 August,2008 at Picturesque Kelwa Beach in Palghar.  Rotary Club of Palghar along with the neighboring clubs is leading this project.
